Lumpo has always found it interesting how something can be appalling or distasteful in one light, yet fascinating, beautiful, or humorous in another. A smashed open head, an eyeball knocked out of it’s socket; things that would shock and sicken under one context. Recreate the same imagery in a cartoon with bright colors and smooth lines. Suddenly it becomes humorous, intriguing, palatable. It’s this relationship that I like to explore though my work.
